June 30th, 2702 - Discourse (Part 1)

Garret Wes:

Hello Europa! I'm Garrett Wes and you've just tuned in to 'The Discourse!' Tonight my guests are very special, very important people who can shed some light into the events that are unfolding in the world today. We have Professor Lambert Henny from the University of California at Los Angeles, Roslyn Ford the Minister of Defence, Jan Antonsen the Minister of Justice & Emergency Planning, General Rupert Karl and Pope Timo Nicolaus Kauffmann.

Welcome welcome. Now... how to begin? The world has seen some drastic changes over the course of just a few years. There's the big bang, the genetic and environmental changes, these Immortals or now known as Demigods, and now we suddenly have a war on our heads. Would anyone like to shed some light?

General Karl:

I wouldn't call it quite sudden. For two years straight we've been keeping a close eye on just about everything the God Particles merged with. Now this is a very unknown element to us which scientists have yet to identify its usefulness. But from what we've all gathered so far when bonding with humans is that it is one hundred percent dangerous.

Prof. Henny:

Sir, with all due respect, there are many good-hearted people that bonded with these God Particles and they didn't turn out bad. It was the government and the people who couldn't accept change and expeditious evolution.

General Karl:

I know far enough. Power corrupts man professor, especially when it is so easily given. There are millions of people out there right now fighting for a maniac with powers that surpass our own. Are you not the least bit worried that a 90 year old woman who might have bonded with the particle may just as well blow up a couple of kids that disturb her evening?

Prof. Henny:

Listen, we had the same problem with gun control. In some areas it works and some areas it doesn't. Not everyone is a raging lunatic. Plus, if there are bad demigods then there must certainly be good demigods out there as well who might help our cause.

General Karl:

Our cause? This isn't a war between countries. It isn't a war between democracies and it isn't a war for territory. This is a war for humanity, between two races...

Prof. Henny:

They're still humans General!

General Karl:

Only once they're dead.

Garret Wes:

If I may, Professor Henny, ask if you could enlighten us on what God Particles are and how they merge with the environment and living species.

Prof. Henny:

Of course. First I'd like to state that the God Particle has been known to man since the 1960's, or I should probably say theorised. The name we are using right now was given by the media, not scientists, as it is originally called Higgs Boson. Physicists hate the mainstream name, Higgs himself despised the term, calling it sensationalistic.

The Higgs Boson, as I'll refer to as now, is what we believe to be the first particle to ever exist. The theory is that everything, every particle in the known universe was once one particle. Then we had the first Big Bang which began to separate the particle into an almost infinite amount, each particle later on taking a different characteristic. But there are still many aspects that are unknown to us.

However, we believe that these God Particles here, and note that I am saying God Particles now, are actually particles of God. Before you all jump on me and call out blasphemy I would like to state that this is all theoretical and in theory a Higgs Boson cannot merge with another particle. Therefore, we believe that these particles that erupted from the second Big Bang are entirely different, others may argue that they are perhaps purer or the opposite which may be what's allowing them to merge. It's all mind boggling and very complicated to explain in simple words.

Basically, if we compare a Higgs Boson and a God Particle and define them then you will see how they are so different. A particle from a Higgs Boson will define itself as earth, or cotton, water, air, light and so on. These particles do not create but become. As for the God Particles, well, each particle seems to control a certain element or power or... it's very scary business, I'll put it like that. Depending on the God Particle that you may bond with, you will be able to fully control its properties. If its a particle of fire for instance, you will be able to create fire, as much as you'd like. Same as a particle of water, or metals, air, anything you can think of.

There also seems to be higher tiered God Particles which have completely baffled us and that is the understatement of the century. For the past minute I've been talking about regular God Particles. From what we've witnessed and studied, there are God Particles that will allow flight, healing and regeneration, invisibility, enhanced strength and endurance, increased intelligence, mind control, reanimation, telekinesis, manipulation of magnets, shape shifting and the manifestation of the imagination. Before anyone comments, I'd like to insert that the last one scares the living s*** out of me.

Gentlemen.. and lady... We aren't looking at just another scientific project here. This is where, for the first time in history, we are seeing some kind of evidence that God may exist.

Pope Kauffmann:

And he does! But these humans who are calling themselves Demigods are abominations. Their very existence is blasphemy.

Garret Wes:

Yes Pope, let us hear from you, how are Christians reacting to these people?

Pope Kauffmann:

Fortunately there haven't been any claims on anyone being a prophet or such that will confuse anyone but obviously there are those that still question their faith. Within the two years that humanity has been affected by these particles we've had experiences with both evil and good. We called those who were evil, demons, and those who were good, angels. When a poor man is desperate to heal their sick child they will do anything. Before the war, before the protests, these people would seek out those with healing powers and pay them.

For what I'm about to say, some will be angered or irritated but those who know me, will understand. We are given the tools to build a civilisation by God. If we find a cure on this earth to a deadly disease it is because God has given it to us. The tools and knowledge is out there in hiding. Our purpose in life is to find these tools and pieces of knowledge and build a civilisation that will finally make God proud of what he has created. Our accomplishments are his accomplishments. That being said, these demigods are cheats. They are unnatural and out of this world. We cannot accept any kind of help that is unnatural. The people who are sick, who are beyond our help and capabilities need to be let go. If we haven't found the tools or the knowledge then we're either not doing well enough as a race or God simply does not want us to heal certain illnesses. Sooner or later we all die. I don't believe that every disease should have a cure. Only God can live forever. We were never supposed to live healthy lives and live til a hundred but we have. But do we need to? If all of us lived long lives and reproduced at the same time there wouldn't be any space left on Earth. We would be over crowded on this limited land. Death must be embraced in the end. We cannot escape the touch of Death and the embrace of God.

The arrival of these demigods are a test by God to see if our faith with falter, if we will question and challenge him. Our only job is to prove to him that our faith will not falter, stand together as a human race, with every other religion and fight these dogs. Demigods are hell spawn!
