Our Legacy - Episode 10

"I want fire!" Arcadeus roared, pointing at the Necromancer's fortress, as he hovered above his troops. "Lieutenant Wauter!" He glided over several of his soldiers before landing heavily beside the shocked man.

"Sir?" he almost cowered.

"Take your squad in shielded formations. We'll lay down heavy fire and distract him."

"You'll help us?"

"Yes! Now go and stop wasting my time!" He shoved the lieutenant to the side and pointed after him to his squad. "Do not disappoint!" He took flight once more and stared down their enemy from afar. "Bring me Hellfire! I want that fort turned into ash! By the end of the day, I expect nothing but a crater!"

Each shielder was given five to six people under their protection as they sprinted across the fielders. The sky was filled with bright colours emitted from the dozens of orbs, streaks and rays shot and launched from the Demigods surrounding the fort. There wasn't an element in the world that wasn't being fired. Heavy winds boosted the squad's speed, almost lifting them off their feet, to get them to their destination. 

The Necromancer responded to the attacks with tricks of his own. Spiked vines erupted from the earth and began to chase the lieutenant and his squad like snakes.

"Oh my God!" Maha screamed as the ground exploded in front of them and several vines lashed out from it. They quickly dodged a vine swinging itself right above the ground by jumping over it but another vine caught someone off guard in mid-air and launched them far away. 

There was suddenly too much going. Their formations were broken and they were no longer progressing towards the fort. Everyone was trying to survive and evade the coming vines. Keyla saw Klaus fighting off a vine as it tried to dig onto someone. It had penetrated through the abdomen but Klaus had gotten there in time to stop it from ripping the body in half. As strong as he was, the giant was still struggling and Keyla wanted to help. She flew as fast as she could towards him and touched his arm. As she connected with his God Particle for a brief moment, she channelled his powers and helped him lift the vine off their comrade. Klaus began to laugh as they managed to bend it to their will. The Demigod they had just saved however was in peril. The damage done was severe as there was a lot of muscle and tissue missing and his organs were in plain sight.

"Get him help!" Klaus yelled, wrestling the vine away. "I've got this now!"

Keyla held the man in her arms and flew to Maha.

"Babe! I need help!" Maha whipped her head around from the battle to the man on the floor.

"Shit! That's bad!" She jumped to her knees and started healing him but there was too much blood.

"I'll help!" Keyla touched her partner and quickly borrowed her powers, aiding her in healing the man.

"Good good, that's helping!" Suddenly, a vine shot out of the man, splitting him in half. Maha and Keyla were both pushed back from the force the vine created, both of them covered in blood.

Lieutenant Wauter was having the worst day of his life as he watched his squad get decimated.

"Attack the fortress! Stand up and get there! That is our objective!" he shouted. Two vines began to crawl towards him, twisting around each other. Just looking at them made him angry. He summoned a wall of stone to greet them and then a hand of earth aided it, pulling the vines down and ripping them into two. The lieutenant cried in victory and urged his comrades forwards.

The Necromancer changed tactics and switched to defence, creating a forcefield around the fort. Arcadeus smiled immediately. He knew what to do in this situation. As the lieutenant and the rest stared at the sparkling defensive bubble they heard a roar from the army behind them. Arcadeus took a shot from where he was standing. A ball of fire soared across the fields and landed on the shield doing no damage.

"That is your target!" He roared. "Now bring that shield down!" Like thunder, hundreds of Demigods unleashed their ranged powers into that one single point.

The squad was in disbelief as they watched the combination of powers fly across and hit that one point. The forcefield immediately started to crack and shattered within seconds. The firing stopped but hell still rained down upon the fort, taking down walls and blowing a massive hole into one side. The lieutenant quickly charged in, with the rest following, but an eerie green bolt of lightning greeted him, disintegrating him whole in a second. Everyone quickly scattered, hiding from sight, except for Klaus. The giant stormed towards a cloaked man but an invisible force grabbed him and slammed him hard into the floor, knocking him out.

"Fools." The Necromancer sniggered as the rest of the Demigods within the fortress tried to find a place to hide. "You are in my domain. I will find each and everyone one of you... and consume your souls! Hahahahaha! UUUUUUURAAAAAAHHHHH!"
