In the early years of the 27th century, the Milky Way witnessed a big bang. The event showered millions of white speckles of light around the universe. God Particles, they were called, for their ability to change any living organism in our system.

Those beings that bonded with these God Particles were gifted with new traits and abilities - some more spectacular than others. Their possession of these abilities resulted in animosity from those without, particularly those who believed only God should hold unimaginable power. War was therefore inevitable. Nations united to descend upon the millions of Demigods, the epithet coined for those with power, and so began a war for the ages.

Demigods worldwide assembled themselves into an army in the heart of Europe under the command of the General Arcadeus Mara. As a human, the general had been considered peerless in strategic ability and ruthlessness. Now, he was a Demigod.

The widespread oppression and mistrust of Demigods within the human sphere led General Arcadeus – together with his family members who had also been afflicted by the God Particles – to mask their abilities in an effort to retain some semblance of their former lives. Their efforts were in vain; on discovery of their transition to Demigod status the Government and army deemed General Arcadeus an immediate threat.

Though they initially granted him exile, human paranoia towards the Demigods increased, resulting in several attempts on his life made with the aim of quashing any potential uprisings that could have now “dangerous” Arcadeus at the helm.

The war lasted a few months. Arcadeus lost his wife and youngest son and was left with his daughter and two eldest sons. Together they tried to win the war but the world was no longer theirs. Events took place that no one could understand. At the helm of an untrained army, they had no choice but to retreat and focus their combined powers elsewhere.

With the aide of a mysterious character, the seas between Europe and America were divided and like refugees, the Demigods crossed the oceans for a better chance to live in peace. America was conquered and with no help from the outside world it became Arcadeus's new home which he ruled unchallenged for the next 300 years.

The Demigods rebuilt a new society and government, unlike those which they were accustomed to. America, now called Empyrean, was a nation changed and hand-crafted by its inhabitants. The land changed shape in order to battle natural disasters. The weather was manipulated for crop growth. Demigods used their powers in their everyday life. But this would soon come to pass as their numbers grew and Empyrean was no longer enough.

General Arcadeus Mara called for war with the rest of the world, which they had not been in contact with since they had crossed the seas. Neither had dared to make a move on the other until Demigods had almost become a myth and America a no-mans-land. Arcadeus was ready this time or so he thought.

For the many years the Demigods had powers, there was never enough time to go back to the source. Where had their powers come from? What really was that Big Bang? Beyond time, among the living and dead, an Angel watched carefully. The Angel had been tasked with bringing balance to the world and from the new declaration of war, the balance had been tipped. Humankind was at the brink of extinction.

The Archangel Azrael saw himself unfit to handle the situation. The Big Bang was more than what any human or Demigod could imagine. The Big Bang was the fall of God, the Angels and Demons and the Devil. Azrael tried and failed to find them for 300 years but something told him this war would bring everything to the surface. The war would bring upon a new world and a new world needed a new prophet. But this prophet would be unlike those before it.

This prophet would have to bring balance to the world at a time of war among Gods. This prophet would need to stop Arcadeus and his army at their strongest. The Angel of Death and the Prophet will have to aid each other but many mysteries will be uncovered during this time. But will they answer questions asked? Or will they make matters worse?
